Why Entrepreneurship?

I recently pointed out a lot of things that I found to be problematic in our country and I think it’s time that I started presenting some solutions too.

Entrepreneurship is one of the solutions because it “promotes capital formation, creates large-scale employment opportunities, promotes balanced regional development, reduces concentration of economic power, stimulates wealth creation and distribution, leads to increasing gross national product and per capita income, leads to improvement in the standard of living, promotes the country’s export trade, induces backward and forward linkages and facilitates overall development.” –http://www.networkrecruitment.co.za/…/entrepreneurship-pro…/

I recently discovered Caban Investments and have now had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of the group Dave Romero, who shares our vision for a better South Africa. Caban is a group of ‘entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs’ so if you’re passionate about a project and would like to get assistance in some way, be it funding, mentorship, help etc then you should really check them out. If you know any budding entrepreneurs please forward this to them as well.

Thank you South Africa. If anyone else finds something similar that can help entrepreneurs or ANYTHING that can help us build our nation then please send it through! The email address for Siyakhuluma_Mzansi related things is Siyakhuluma.Mzansi@gmail.com

I cannot stress the importance of entrepreneurship in South Africa enough and if you won’t take my word for it then look at what experts have to say.

“For a developing economy like South Africa, entrepreneurship and social innovation are vital to unlock growth and economic inclusion. The South African government has acknowledged that it will play a crucial part of future growth and success for the country.” – Jonker, E, M Saayman, and S de Klerk. “The Role and Attributes of Entrepreneurs at South Africa’s Largest Arts Festival.” PASOS, 2009: 381-392.

“The vital importance and positive contribution of entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial culture in economic and social development cannot be overstated. Entrepreneurs create and bring to life new technologies, products and services and create new markets and jobs along the way. Entrepreneurs are smart risk takers, implementers, rule-breakers; or in a word: innovators. And like any emerging economy aiming to move ahead, in South Africa we need lots of them! ” – IDC Stakeholder Newsletter – Entrepreneurship – Industrial Development Corporation Access Newsletter

“What is the role of entrepreneurship in the economic development in South Africa? According to Chinmoy Kumar, it promotes capital formation, creates large-scale employment opportunities, promotes balanced regional development, reduces concentration of economic power, stimulates wealth creation and distribution, leads to increasing gross national product and per capita income, leads to improvement in the standard of living, promotes the country’s export trade, induces backward and forward linkages and facilitates overall development.” – http://www.networkrecruitment.co.za/our-blog/entrepreneurship-promotes-economic-development-in-south-africa/
